DEFENSE ADVANCED RESEARCH PROJECTS AGENCY (DARPA) CYBER GRAND CHALLENGE
Raytheon is a finalist in the DARPA Cyber Grand Challenge, which aims to automatically detect and fix systems’ vulnerabilities in a Capture The Flag format without human interaction. "DeepRed," Raytheon's official team name, is a nod to both Raytheon's red logo and the famous Deep Blue supercomputer created by International Business Machines (IBM)..
After taking first place at a preliminary round in December, the team triumphed again in June to earn a spot in the final competition at DEF CON, a hacker convention which takes place in August 2016 in Las Vegas. The winner will receive $2 million.
